私の介護職としての道のりは、永和会が外国人職員の多くが望むようなチャンスを与えてくれた時から始まりました。採用された日から、この分野での十分な経験がないにもかかわらず、私を信頼し、この機会を与えてくれたことに心からの感謝の気持ちを抱きました。彼らは、私が無理のないペースで業務を学び、成長していけるように、毎日指導してくださいました。
My journey as a caregiver started when Eiwakai gave me the chance that most aspiring applicants from different countries want. From the day I was hired, I felt sincere gratitude that despite not having enough experience in the field of caregiving they trusted me and gave me this opportunity. They let me develop myself in the process, learn the tasks at my own pace and guided me every single day.
不完全な点や、様々な状況のなかで誤解が生じることはあるかもしれません。しかし、彼らはより良い職場のために、あらゆる問題を解決するためにコミュニケーションを取り続けています。今日に至るまで、高齢者と会社への私の貢献はジェットコースターのような2年間でした。良いことも悪いことも、嬉しい瞬間も悲しい瞬間もたくさんありましたが、私は決して立ち止まりません。私は、介護福祉士に合格し、日本でながくお仕事を続けていくという目標があり、それを達成することに集中しています。永和会の良い点の1つは、外国人労働者全員がこの目標を達成できるようサポートする計画を持っていることです。
Imperfections, circumstances and misunderstandings may occur. Hence, they continue to communicate to solve every problem for a better working place. As of today, it’s been two roller-coaster ride years of my service to the elders and the company. So many things happened, good and bad, happy and sad moments yet I never stop. I am focused on how to achieve the goal of having the privilege of living here in Japan permanently. One of the good things about this company is they have a plan to support every foreign worker achieve this goal.

かつては日本も大家族で過ごす文化で、息を引き取るまで一緒に暮らしていたと聞きます。フィリピン人労働者として、私たちは家族に対する同じ信念を持っています。私たちは、両親、祖父母、そして病気の家族の世話をします。永和会は、日本が高度経済成長し近代化してきたなかで、徐々に薄れていった文化を継続したいと考えています。これこそが、私が人間性と高齢者への愛情を持つこのチームの一員になりたいと願う理由です。
Way back then, Japanese also had their family extended. Living together until their last breath. As a Filipino worker we have the same beliefs on family. We take care of our parents, grand-parents and a family member who is sick. Eiwakai wants to continue that kind of culture they had before technology came, before Japanese got busy with their jobs and their own improvement towards being a good citizen of their country. This is the reason why I want to be part of this team with humanity and love for the elders.
介護が必要な高齢者と接することは簡単ではありませんが、心から働けばすべてが可能です。職場の雰囲気を作るのは働く人々です。介護士としての職務や作業を行う際、職員は明るく、穏やかであるべきです。そして、これらのことは永和会では目に見える形で実行されています。永和会は、物質的なもの、お金、評価を超えて、日本国民のすべてのおじいさん、おばあさんの命、文化、そして普通の生活を大切にしています。
It’s not easy to deal with elders with special conditions due to aging but if we work from the heart all is possible. The workers set the atmosphere inside the workplace. Staff should be light and soft as they perform the duties and tasks of a caregiver. And these things are visible and are performed in Eiwakai. Beyond any material things, money and recognition, Eiwakai values life, culture and normal living of every grandmother and grandfather of a Japanese citizen.
